Standing In Praise
Wednesday, September 20th, 2006 | Standing In Praise
I'm not sure what these are, they look like lily pads,
and they're growing in this marshy looking thing, but I'm no botanist
or horticulturist, I have no idea, I'm not going to try to guess.

I do know that they are magnificent.
I first saw them about a month ago when I was shooting at this park,
doing multiple exposures. When I saw these things I was struck by their beauty...
standing so tall, all facing the same direction, as if they were waiting
for someone to notice them. To me, they felt like little people.

But I forgot to change my camera setting so when I shot them,
the mult-ex setting was still on and none of the pictures came out.
Duhh, I know...

So anyway, I went back there on Monday and shot them again,
and since the summer is quickly ending, their colors are fading,
but they are still standing proud.
